Whiteland Indiana
Whiteland, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis, is bounded on the north by Greenwood, Indiana, and on the south by Franklin, Indiana, along State Road 31. Just north of Whiteland is a town called New Whiteland, something of a twin brother community, and just about the same small size.
With state capital Indy only a hop, skip and jump away, commuting to and from there for work is commonplace. Nevertheless, there are quite a few other towns within a short driving distance with businesses hiring large numbers of employees, especially Franklin and Greenwood.
Local major industry includes Power Dyne, Inc., a dynamometers company; Midwest Air LLC, a heating and air conditioning company; and Gale Engineering, an industrial controls manufacturer.
One of the biggest attractions in Whiteland is the Whiteland Raceway Park, whose motto is “The Fastest Rental Karts in the State.” Considering the state referred to is the same one that hosts the Indy 500, that slogan should impart a great deal of confidence.
Whiteland Raceway Park
The Whiteland Raceway Park is widely considered the longest-running go-kart race track in the nation. Built in 1958, this is also one of the more famous such tracks in the United States. There are two paved courses, one of which contains a banked turn, a feature that is fairly rare in go-karting.
The largest building in the town of Whiteland is the Whiteland Community High School, which belongs to the fastest-growing community school corporation in the state. This accredited high school offers all the usual courses, plus an unusual number of extracurricular activities, such as sports, an automotive club, the world language club, a debate team, a poetry club, Thespians, a hunting and fishing club and, of course, all the activities surrounding football.
Whiteland is home of the “Whiteland Warriors,” comprised of 
those athletic students who battle it out in baseball, basketball, football and volleyball. There has been a steady influx of residents to the area, and in 2008, the Whiteland Community High School enrolled their biggest ever class of freshmen students… all 441 of them.
Whiteland is yet another Midwestern town where family comes first, and peace and quiet reign supreme.
